ABOUT US

We are a friendly, welcoming, multinational worshipping community that meets in Gillingham town centre.

Our mission is to share the love of God to everyone, both practically and spiritually.  In this we seek to share the saving unconditional love that Jesus Christ is on offer to us all.  We are also open to the guidance and workings of the Holy Spirit within and through us.  Our community has people of all ages, from babes in arms to those over 90.  We have a mixture of singles, couples and families.

SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP

starts at 10.30am

The first Sunday in the month is usually an All Age Service.

On other Sundays, during the first part we worship together until about 11.00am, then the children & young people leave for their own age related activities.

On the second Sunday in the month the service normally includes Communion.

BSL (lev. 3) signed service normally every third Sunday in the month.

MISSION - UK and the ends of the earth

Our current support includes: 

>  A family working with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) based in Nairobi, Kenya.

>  A Surgeon working in Ginnibor II Hospital in the Chadian capital N'jamina; supported through BMS.

>  CAP Debt Centre (at GBC)

>  A young person in Haiti, through Compassion International.

>  Home Mission (through the South Eastern Baptist Association - SEBA)

    MONDAYS

ALPHA:   An Introduction to Christianity.  This is in the morning from 9 to 11am.  Please contact Ruth Millard or the church office for further information.


STEPS:    A play and chat group for mums, dads and carers with their young ones (under-fives only)  (10 to 11.15am - term time only).

 

  TUESDAYS:

  WEDNESDAYS:

FRIENDSHIP MORNING:  Anyone is welcome to come along and enjoy some company, tea and biscuits in a relaxed atmosphere (10 am to 12 noon - term time only).


PRAYER TIME:   Everyone welcome - from 12 noon. 


PRAYER & BIBLE STUDY:  On alternate evenings in the Lighthouse ~ Starts at 7.30pm.  All welcome.


  THURSDAYS:

GOOD NEWS @ 10:  Bible Study - term time only on alternate Thursdays.


CRAFT TIME:  10am to 12 noon - term time only on alternate Thursdays.


  FRIDAYS:

COFFEE AND CHAT:  Ideal for parents/carers of pre-schoolers to meet and have coffee and cake (9 to 10am - term time only)


CAP CENTRE DROP IN:  10am to 12 noon.  Please check with the church office for opening times outside of term time).


1ST GILLINGHAM BOYS' BRIGADE AND GIRLS' ASSOCIATION:
An evening of fun for children and young people.  Find us on Facebook @1stGillKentBB.
Under 11's:  6.15 to 7.30pm (Reception to Year 6).   Over 11's:  7.30 to 9.30pm  (Year 7 to Year 13)


HALF NIGHT OF PRAYER between 7.00pm and 10.00pm during School holidays.  Please contact the Church Office to check when the next one is.


We also have several Small Groups meeting in various homes for Bible Study, Prayer and social interaction.  These are usually held about twice a month in the evenings.
